#Startkoro Virtual Event!

#StartKoro is a virtual bootcamp for innovators, developers, designers, ideators, and entrepreneurs. Startups have always been hard. Even when you think you are putting in your best. The pandemic has affected all aspects of our lives, creating difficult conditions for businesses and enterprises and also for startups. But in every crisis lies great opportunity if we are innovative. This is the time for you to roll up your sleeves and join ? #StartKoro. 

It started its journey on 6th June for innovators which is powered by Facebook Developer Circle Dhaka, Preneur Lab Trust, UNDP Youth Co:Lab, UNCDF, Startup Bangladesh, FNF Bangladesh, and bdapps by Robi Axiata Limited. It had 8 Sessions and 2 workshops conducted by local and international expert mentors. The month-long bootcamp was attended by 874 registered participants and 30,000+ unique viewers.

Session 1 was conducted by 7 guest speakers: Syed Mozibul Haq, Project Director, iDEA, ICT Division, Sajid Rahman, CEO, Digital Health, Ke Lin, Youth Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Consultant, Bangkok Regional Hub, UNDP, Md Omar Mostafiz, Programme Manager, FNF Bangladesh, Ashraful Alam, Country Project Coordinator, United Nations Capital Development Fund, Bangladesh, Altamis Nabil, Biz Engagement Lead, bdapps by Robi Axiata Limited. The session topic was How to build a Startup and Building a Tech product. The session had 7,300 viewers.

In session 2 we discussed Innovation and SDG’s. The session was conducted by two Guest speakers: Linda Germanis, Private Sector Engagement Specialist, UNCDF, and Ashraful Alam, Country Project Coordinator, UNCDF. The session had 1,598 viewers. 

Session 3 was conducted by Sanklalita Shrome, Impact Preneur, Project & Product Development, Founder Activ8. The topic was “Identifying the right problem to solve and Business Model Canvas”. The Session had 12,00 viewers.

In session 4 we had Faisal Hamid, Co-Founder, Shikhbe Shobai- as guest speaker. The session topic was Prototyping. The session had 3000 viewers. 

Session 5 was conducted by Altamis Nabil, Biz Engagement Lead, bdapps, and Ashik Ruhul, Business Development, Preneur Lab. They discussed creating MVP and Chatbot. The session had 1500 viewers. 

After conducting session 5, we had our first workshop. Workshop 1 was conducted by Arif Nezami, CEO, Preneur Lab. The topic was Facebook Online Hackathon and How to Build a Bot. The workshop had 13,93 viewers in total. 

Workshop 2 was about How to monetize your Apps and service ideas through bdapps. The workshop was conducted by MD Altamis Nabil, Biz Engagement Lead, bdapps, and Arif Haider, Developer Tech Support, bdapps. This workshop had 606 viewers. 

Session 6 was conducted by Abrar Ahmad, Digital Marketing Specialist, bproperty.com, and Md. Omar Mostafiz, Program Manager, FNF. The topic was Data, Analytics, and Marketing Basics. This session had  1425 viewers. 

Session 7 was about Funding and Legal. It was conducted by Syed Taj, Co-founder, LegalSeba.com, and Shezad Nur Taus, CEO, Gaze Technologies. The session had 1000 viewers. 

And the last session was about “Pitching”. It was conducted by Dewan Adnan, Consultant, Startup Bangladesh ICT Division, and Okka Mayo, Managing Director, Impact Hub Yangon  Myanmar. The session had 606 viewers. 

#StartKoro allowed participants to learn from the best of the best local and international mentors, attend workshops, build your product, pitch in-front of VCs, and launch their startup or MVP. Participants learned from the expert’s experience and prepare themselves to build your product. There were 1:1 mentoring, networking, and collaborating opportunities. Organizers offer access to funding, access to the global network, and further support. After 8 sessions and 2 workshops,  the finale – the Demo Day has done!

Top 3 winners  Mainly Coding, Malamal.xyz, Lagvelki has received total $1500 USD ads credits from Facebook DevC. Mainly Coding is an AI-powered personalized learning experience dedicated to programming. Malamal.xyz is a  B2B online portal for Industrial Products and business supplies for Bangladesh. Lagvelki is an online cinema viewing platform where we watch a cinema, only paying for it directly to producers.

FNF Bangladesh, Rakhshanda Rukham, Co-founder, Preneur Lab, and Fayez Ahmed, UNDP Bangladesh were the jury members for the Final Demo Day.
