30 Youth Graduated from the Digital Leadership Program “Freedom Fellows”

The youth of today are supposedly the leaders of tomorrow. Future leaders of the nation and the country will come from the younger generation. Therefore, it is crucial to improve both their general skills and their human and moral qualities. “There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age”, told by Sophia Loren. Preneur Lab and Friedrich Naumann Foundation Bangladesh adhere to this motto. The final day of the “Freedom Fellows” boot camp, which was jointly organized by the two organizations, was held on November 10, 2022.

 

Essentially, these two organizations work together to offer this boot camp at different times throughout the year. Many young people from across the nation attend this boot camp to talk about issues like individual freedom, digital rights, economic independence, and civic leadership. This time, the organizations paid for transportation for the candidates to Cox’s Bazar, one of the most well-known tourist destinations in the country. Everything, including the participants’ food, lodging, and other needs, was under the control of the boot camp administration.

 

Throughout the four-day boot camp, the workshop participants got instruction on arrange of subjects. The workshop began operations on November 7, 2022. The day’s activities included topic selection, icebreakers, introductory sessions, and brief session discussions.

 

Beginning on the second day, or November 8, 2022, the main workshop began. On this particular day, there were four unique sessions on four themes. “Content Creation & Power of Storytelling” was the theme of the first session. This conversation was moderated by Syed Naimul Hossain, founder of the Bangla Institute, and Mr. Arif Nezami, co-founder of Preneur Lab. The second session of the day was organized by Mr. Omar Mostafiz, FNF Bangladesh’s program manager, and Mr. Tanveer Ahsan, FNF Bangladesh’s finance manager, and it was titled “Tolerance, Individual Freedom.” “Fake News and Fact-Checking” was the topic of the third session. Ms. Rakhshanda Rukham, co-founder of Preneur Lab, spoke at this event. She presided over the meeting online.

Mr. Ashraful Tanvir, Head of Operations and Admin of Preneur Lab led the last session of the first working day, which focused on “Digital Rights and Online Privacy.”

 

The workshop’s third working day was November 9, 2021. On that day Dr. Nazmul Hossain, Country Representative of FNF Bangladesh, was the session speaker. The session was on “Economic Freedom”. A panel discussion was held with 2 of the humanitarian activist Mr. Mahmudul Hasan, Country HR Manager of Relief International and Mr. Rakibul Islam, Sr. Officer, HR, Relief International. Participants submitted their created video clips on this day.

 

On November 10, 2021, the workshop’s fourth and last working day occurred. For producing content on five distinct topics, five entrants were named winners on this particular day. On the general substance, judges offered their opinions and comments. a workshop  concluded with the distribution of special prizes and certificates to the winners, as well as participation certificates and presents to all participants.

 

The development of young people’s creativity and cooperation skills need workshops like this one. Additionally, the participants were thrilled and satisfied with the course. Future activities of this nature are planned by Friedrich Naumann Foundation Bangladesh and Preneur Lab.
