#StartKoro to Motivate the New Entrepreneurs

#StartKoro, which is the virtual bootcamp for young innovators, entrepreneurs, developers, designers and ideators, had their final Demo day on 24 August, 2021 virtually. This event brought out 5 amazing startups to incubate by the specialized jury members. This was the season 2 of StartKoro. The season 1 was held in 2020 and it was a great success for the StartKoro team. Out of all the participants of Start Koro 2020, 2 projects were funded by FNF Bangladesh, 3 supported by bdapps, 3 got Facebook ads credit by Facebook, 1 startup became a finalist in UNDP Youth CoLab accelerator and 1 project won global Facebook Online Hackathon by Facebook.

 

#StartKoro has always been a great helping hand and pioneer for the new innovators, entrepreneurs, designers, ideators and developers. StartKoro provides mentoring and training from the best and specialized local and international personalities, which is a lot of helpful for the young people of this path. There were 8 sessions arranged. The sessions of StartKoro were organized in such a way that the participants had to go through a proper circle of learning, ideating, developing and mentoring process so that they could launch their product easily and get motivated. In every session of those 8 sessions, 3 winners were selected and they got gift packs. 187 participants registered their teams to join the StartKoro sessions. Among them, the top 13 teams were selected to present their final pitch before the jury board on the final day. Finally 5 teams got selected as the winners.  

 

This time the whole world is going through a pandemic situation due to COVID19. Some are having a very hard time due to this and some have made good use of this situation by starting their careers as entrepreneurs. At this moment  most of the people prefer products from home and eCommerce sites. So, it’s a great opportunity for the new entrepreneurs and innovators to start their business. 

 

The jury members were the local and international specialists of this sector and they made the best decision for choosing the best. Mohammad Mahdee uz Zaman, the manager of Solutions Architecture Amazon Web Services, USA, Shahana Sharmeen, the Deputy chief of party, USAID YES Activity Program, Relief International, Naima Zakaria, the Board Member of Ashoka Scandinavia Venture Board, Wei Jie Chan, the Youth Startup Support Coordinator, UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub, Md. Salah Uddin, the General Manager, VAS and New Business | Market Operations Robi Axiata Ltd, Md. Omar Mostafiz, the Program Manager, FNF Bangladesh and Rakhshanda Rukham, the Co-founder of Preneurlab were the jury members.

 

This event was powered  by Preneur Lab trust, FNF Bangladesh, Facebook DevC Dhaka, AppMaker+, and UNDP Youth Co:Lab. These types of events can really motivate to grow more entrepreneurs, innovators, designers, developers and ideators.
